How to use your ECO2 Kettle
Carefully unpack the ECO Kettle and its power base, and remove all packaging
materials.
Study the illustrations in this booklet to identify the various parts
of the ECO Kettle, and then follow these operating instructions.
The ECO kettle is supplied with some of the mains and cable stowed in the Power
Base.
The cable can simply be lengthened by releasing it from the clips.
Every kettle is boil-tested as part of our quality assurance procedures and this
may leave small drops of water inside the reservoir and boiling chamber.
Before first use, boil a full volume of water and discard to ensure that the
interior of the ECO kettle is completely clean.

Operation
Check that the control knob is in the raised position, pull it back, and then
open the hinged lid.
Fill the main reservoir to the MAXIMUM level and close the lid using a firm downward
pressure.
Ensure that the control knob clicks back into the closed position and the lid
is securely closed.
Place the ECO Kettle on its power base and plug in the power cord to a standard
domestic power socket and switch on.
You are now ready to decide how much water you wish to boil – from one cup to
the full kettle!
To deliver water to the boiling chamber, press down firmly on the control knob
until water flows into the boiling chamber.
Watch the water level rise in the front window until it reaches the required
mark.
For your guidance:
- One small cup = 150 to 200ml
- One large cup/mug = 200 to 300ml
When the control knob is released the valve closes and the water in the
boiling chamber is ready to boil.
Always ensure there is enough water to reach the “Min Fill” mark (approximately
one cup = 200ml).
Never fill above the “Max Boil” mark on the boiling chamber window as water may
be ejected during boiling.
Switch the ECO Kettle ON by pressing down the On/Off switch.
The internal light will illuminate to indicate the ECO Kettle is ON.
When the water has boiled, the ECO Kettle will switch OFF automatically.
The water can be brought back to the boil by operating the ON/OFF switch again.
It may be necessary to wait a few seconds before the switch can be reset.
Do not hold the switch in the “ON” position as this will damage the mechanism.
You can simply stop the boiling process at any time by operating the ON/OFF Switch
to the OFF position.
If at any time you wish to heat all of the water in
the kettle – including the water contained in the reservoir simply lock the valve open by pressing the control knob down firmly and rotating
it clockwise.
Do not leave the valve in the locked position as this will prevent your ECO Kettle
from saving energy and may make the lid seal less effective.
If the ECO kettle is inadvertently operated without
water in the boiling chamber an automatic cut out will
operate to protect your ECO kettle. This can simply be re-set as follows:
Cool the
heating element – this can be quickly be achieved by releasing cool water from the
reservoir into the boiling chamber.
Wait for a short time for the control to cool
sufficiently and the ECO Kettle will then be ready for use again.
Top up the reservoir
to the maximum level from time to time as necessary, so that your ECO Kettle is
always ready to heat the exact amount of water you require.
To ensure the water
in your ECO Kettle does not get stale, start each day by discarding any remaining
water and refilling with fresh.
Looking after your ECO Kettle
The ECO Kettle is provided with a removable filter in the spout to remove limescale
etc. If it becomes clogged, remove and clean under running water.
To maintain optimum performance, it will be necessary from time to time to clean
the ECO Kettle to remove limescale deposits. This can be achieved simply by using
a proprietary cleaner made specially for plastic bodied kettles, and following the
makers instructions.
The outside of your ECO kettle should be kept clean using a damp, soft cloth.
Do not use abrasive cleaners as these will scratch the surfaces.
Never immerse the ECO kettle or its power base in water.
